It’s like a little pill that gives you an energy boost. I never ever join gyms but this isn’t like other gyms at all. And it fits into your lifestyle. I love it!

I joined Curves because I have Parkinsons. I wanted to get fitter and build myself up and also to keep my weight down because some of my medication puts weight on. I am happy to say I feel great and enjoy my workouts. I have a lot more energy, I walk better and my weight has not increased. With my medication and Curves people cannot tell that I have Parkinsons. I do believe that any exercise is good for you but it is nice to walk into Curves at West Ryde and see lovely smiling faces and to feel so comfortable and welcome. Thank you for making it enjoyable and fun.

I have finally moved but I’ve come back to West Ryde for Curves. Honestly, it’s the community here, the people, the smiles, the nods of “Hi, I know you!”. It’s a great place – thanks to all of the staff and ‘Curvers’.

Formerly a gymnast and fit person, I did not have to worry about weight gain at all. Then I had three children and went back to work earlier and earlier after each one until I was exhausted. I was in a constant headache state, dependent on coffee, high-energy, fat-producing foods and basically miserable. Desperate to make a change after my doctor came extremely close to medicating me at age 33 for high blood pressure, I made the move with a friend to join Curves. Since that important ‘move’ to visit Curves three times a week and with healthier eating, within four months I lost 13 kilograms, lowered my blood pressure to normal, got rid of my headaches, gained energy and vitality and can finally enjoy life again. Curves has been integral to my new lifestyle! The support and encouragement is personal and motivating – thank you!

I joined Curves after walking past the gym twice a day for about 18 months and ignoring that annoying little voice in my head that was prompting me to join. Anyway, I had just visited my GP and he said that because I had had ten episodes of palpatations this needed investigating. He wrote me out a letter to the pathologist for a 24 hour halter monitor to be fitted to me to record my heartbeat etc. I put off going to the pathologist because of the inconvenience and started working out three afternoons a week after work at Curves. I noticed after a couple of months that I had forgotten all about the halter monitor and I am happy to report that as at today I have not had a single palpatation since I joined Curves. How good is that?
